In an interview with nikalab, Dagmara Brzezińska told us why she does not believe in work life balance, revealed her four daily habits that help her take care of her health and told us about the skill she inherited in her genes.

Work life balance for me is... something I don't believe in, because it means that we separate work and private life, but it doesn't work that way. We work for about 40 years throughout our lives, so it is impossible to separate them. A statement close to my heart that I will promote is work life blending. Work intersects with private life and if you have passion for what you do and going to work is also a pleasure, we achieve inner peace.

My most important daily health habits are... taking care of my physical and mental health in a holistic way.

Physically, this is responsible supplementation for me - tailored to my body. Secondly, regular examinations, which unfortunately many of us forget about. Thirdly – sport, which I try to practice every day. When we spend long hours in a sitting position in the office, we must take special care of it. Fourth - every morning after waking up, I drink warm water to warm up my body. My friend Agnieszka Cegielska, who has extensive knowledge about methods of supporting the body, taught me this.

Mentally, I make sure I have time for breathing exercises and meditation. This is absolutely key for me, because as it turns out, we cannot breathe properly and we forget how important it is.

The sport I practice regularly is... spinning.

I spend up to 5 hours a week on physical activity . During the day, I also try to take a break for an energetic walk.

My motivation for sports is... to feel good, fill my body with endorphins, feel disciplined and stay in shape.

Meditation gives me... the opportunity to calm down and organize my energy. In the evening, I often use meditation as a stress reliever, and in the morning, meditation puts me in a positive mood for the whole day. I feel great in guided meditations and those that focus on breathing.

My diet is based on... vegetables, fruit, healthy plant protein and cereal products, which I like very much. I haven't eaten meat for almost 10 years - I do it for animal welfare and to care for our planet.

I end the day by… reading books with my daughter. We started when she was a baby and it's an amazing ritual that we maintain. We are currently watching Adventures of Santa Claus, which allowed me to go back to my early primary school days and it gives me great pleasure. The second family ritual for me is cuddling - with my partner and daughter - often ending with a pillow fight. It gives us an incredible increase in happiness hormones,

I spend… 7-8 hours sleeping. I fall asleep without any problems, but I have to properly prepare the bedroom in advance - covering the windows until it is almost completely dark or lowering the temperature are two basic methods that make it easier for me to fall asleep. I also sometimes take naps during the day, which I can do with the watch in my hand. Knowing that I have half an hour, I do a power nap for 20 minutes and wake up feeling very regenerated. I think I inherited this skill in my genes.

The things I do only for myself are… reading books, sports and meditation. I am an advocate of having days a week where I have an hour or two just for myself. It gives me extraordinary peace and is stimulating, because that's when I make plans for the next days or months.

My little sin is... coffee from my favorite Relaks cafe, which tastes exceptionally good there.

Happiness for me is... a multi-level concept. To feel happy, I need to have people around me, but also time for myself. The feeling of happiness gives me moments when I am not available to everyone, but also moments of holidays with my loved ones and friends. Happiness for me is also a job in which I have challenges. I absolutely cannot be bored!

Luxury for me is... time.

My small daily steps in taking care of the planet are... I don't eat meat, I take my bags with me when shopping, I'm installing photovoltaics in my house, I turn off the lights, sort the garbage, and sow flower meadows. These are very small things, but I hope they are effective.

The advice I would give myself if I were 20 again is... trust your intuition. I used to question it a lot and try to follow the rules or advice of people around me and it was wrong.

A book/podcast that I recently read/listened to and I recommend it... I recommend the podcast "Moja Droga", which I create together with my friend, for the Vogue Polska platform. Tonight we are recording a new episode in which we summarize our second season of conversations with interesting guests and talk about the books we read on vacation. I especially recommend one of them: "The world: A family history", authored by Simon Sebag Montefiore. The Spectator described it as a cross between Succession and Game of Thrones. It is the history of the world told through the stories of families that had an impact on the history of humanity. I wondered what the devil was, I started reading and couldn't stop reading. I recommend!
