Maciej Szpot w rozmowie z nikalab opowiada o tym, czym jest dla niego szczęście

In an interview with nikalab, Maciej Szpot talks about whether he listens to the advice of others, explains why he is not interested in "little sins", and also reveals his solution to problems with falling asleep.

For me, work life balance is... the awareness that other people's influence on my choices is limited to myself, taking as much of their advice as I need. Unity in everyday work with goals - often personal - created in conversations with each other, give me a sense of freedom and control over life. I don't drift, I flow, and what is important to me is that all successes and failures belong only to me.

My most important daily health habits are... an element of constant work on myself - in this case, sports and food. I put a lot of effort into the quality of the food I eat, which has become a daily habit for me. Part of our family life is cooking and the related care for health and relationships.

The sports I practice regularly are… playing badminton, horse riding, cycling, swimming, running with my dog and skiing. For me, physical activity is a cocktail of mobilization and a way of looking for a moment of happiness.

I spend a week on physical activity... more than the national average. Sport is my past and future. I try to associate it only with the feeling of pleasure.

My motivation for sport is... well-being, stress reduction, fitness support and health care.

I meditate in… continuous, regular and constant movement. Preferably in nature.

My diet is based on the 8/16 system and I believe in it very much. Following meal times gives me daily well-being and control over myself. I associate eating something of low quality with a lack of self-respect.

I end the day by… calming down and preparing my body for a night's rest. I had major problems with sleep - difficult professional periods in my life affected the quality of my life and health. For me, the ability to switch off from the rhythm of the day in the evening and enter the slow mode is conscious work on myself.

To everyone who has trouble falling asleep, I recommend the book "The Private Life of a Meadow" by John Lewis-Stempel.

I spend… about 8 hours sleeping .

The thing I do only for myself is... a daily massage on a special chair with headphones in my ears. I started learning to do things for myself quite late. Now I understand how important it is and how much time I wasted.

My little sins are... I'm not interested in the little ones - you have to be able to sin with a bang. The most important thing is not to plan them, because they do not give satisfaction.

Happiness for me is... a moment that does not appear without a reason. It is great art, a state of harmony, peace, fulfillment, and feeling good about yourself.

For me, luxury is... replacing the word I have to with the word I want. Luxury is also freedom, the ability to make choices without regard to others and time to take care of my needs and the needs of my loved ones.

My small daily steps in taking care of the planet are... small human reflexes that produce results. I give up plastic, limit meat consumption and segregate garbage. As an entrepreneur, I can do much more and I have significantly lengthened my stride.

The advice I would give myself if I was 20 again is... it's worth listening to the advice of others.

The book I recommend is... I read a lot, and I actually listen to audiobooks. I try to listen to a "nice" book and something sensational at the same time.

For the next decades of BFC, my wish is... to achieve everything I want, but with consistency and understanding from those who will watch from the sidelines. New challenges and investments lie ahead of me. This is very interesting because it will be about things I have never done.

A place in the world that fascinated me is... I have seen a lot of places in the world and this fascination, which lasted for the last 25 years, has recently faded away. I'm not drawn to the end of the world, because it turns out that those emotions are very similar to those in, for example, a location near Warsaw. My latest fascinations are close to me and are associated with what I do, how and with whom. You don't have to go far to achieve this.
