Natalia Jaszczyk w rozmowie z nikalab opowiada o tym, czym jest dla niej szczęście.

In an interview with nikalab, Natalia Jaszczyk talks about why she prefers moving meditation, how micronutrition helps her and shares a book containing the secret of happiness.

For me, work life balance is... a flexible process that is worth adapting to the way we live. Without forcing anything on yourself. The pandemic showed me that I had to change all my habits. My work life balance has been completely reorganized. Blue zones are a model for building my work life balance.

My most important daily health habits are…

  • First of all, healthy food - I can't function without it. I get a lot from micronutrition.
  • At work I have a standing desk and I try to move as much as possible.
  • I drink water regularly.
  • I try to make time for physical activity every day, but I don't always succeed.
  • I care about building quality relationships with the environment.

The sports I practice regularly are... running and pilates. However, there are many other activities that I do when I feel like it, e.g. cycling or group exercises.

I spend about 10 hours a week on physical activity , mostly on weekends when I go to the forest and run for 2 hours. On a weekday, my run is a maximum of 45 minutes in the park, pilates is 1-2 hours.

My motivation for sports… is complex. Health and well-being come first. In the second, joy. Holistic work with the body in the rhythm of breathing gives me great pleasure. The third is awareness of development. I see practicing sports as investing in myself.

I meditate, but... I'm still looking for my master. My adventure with meditation began with the late Małgorzata Braunek. The meditation space she created was filled with her incredible energy. I miss this energy. I really like moving meditation. When I run slowly, I can actually switch off and "disconnect" my head. I feel better in this than in classic sitting, in zen.

My diet is… inspired by the Mediterranean diet. I eat a lot of our local fish, vegetables, fruits, goat and sheep cheeses, dishes made from wholemeal flour such as emmer, olive oil and other oil mixtures, which are very important to me. I read the assumptions of the Mediterranean diet and try to embed them in our local world. Additionally, I go to a specialist in micro medicine. I get inspiration for healthy dishes from her. I do extended blood tests, thanks to which I know what I should eat more and less of during a given period.

I end the day by... reading, or at least I try to do so. However, if my head is overstimulated, I seek calm in a hot bath.

I spend… at least 8 hours sleeping. I'm a sleepyhead and I really like sleeping.

The thing I do only for myself is... I develop. This is one of my core values. Most of what I do professionally, I do for myself. Fashion has been my passion since childhood. I work as a social psychologist, specializing in fashion and consumer behavior. Both fields are currently a field of dynamic changes, which is why permanent development is part of my everyday life.

My little sins are… sweets. I won't lie that I only eat healthy ones, sweetened with coconut sugar. My weakness is called Odette's bakery.

For me, happiness is... building and developing yourself based on your strengths. And not constantly correcting the weaker ones. My mentor in this area is Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, who included instructions on how to use happiness in the book " Flow". Happiness lives inside us. Personally, I feel it most strongly during moments with my loved ones, in contact with nature, and in experiencing new things.

Luxury for me is... being in nature, eating healthy, wearing clothes that are good for our body and for our planet. What worries me is that sustainable living has become a luxury. I would like it to be the norm, everyday life. For me, traveling to wild and undiscovered places, so different from overstimulated Europe, taken over by technological progress, is also a luxury for me.

My small daily steps in taking care of the planet... are natural to me because I have been taking them since childhood, living in the idea of sustainable fashion. My mother instilled these values in me. In my daily work, I educate others on how they can contribute to taking care of our planet. Both by making conscious consumer choices and by taking care of things. I am definitely in favor of repairing rather than throwing away. Giving another life. Buy local products and educate children about ecology.

The advice I would give myself if I were 20 again is... Develop your strengths and leave what doesn't work for you. I'm generally against giving advice. I work in the Free From Advice philosophy, which is about asking the right questions and inspiring. Each of us has our own unique answers to questions, and I help you find them.

The book I recently read and recommend is... " Intuition: Its Strength and Weakness" . Author David G. Myers. It's a beautiful journey through the human mind. Its strength and weakness. A podcast that really inspired me is: What don't you know about coffee? How to drink better coffee at home? Andrzej Kurkowski & k Marta Skoczeń. I would highly recommend.
The publisher does not conduct medical activities.
