  • Quatrefolic® is a fourth-generation folate – offering greater stability and bioavailability than older forms commonly used in many supplements(18).
  • As many as 40–60% of people have a genetic mutation that makes it harder to absorb folic acid. Unlike other forms, Quatrefolic® is well absorbed by everyone(23).
  • Folic acid supplementation can mask early signs of vitamin B12 deficiency – such as anaemia – while Quatrefolic® does not.
  • The human body can’t produce or store folate – and folate deficiency is one of the most common nutrient gaps, with wide-reaching health consequences at every stage of life.

  • Immunity
Folic acid supports the normal function of the immune system(4). Scientific studies show that folic acid plays an important role in supporting immunity. A deficiency may contribute to chronic inflammation, which is a precursor to many diseases(10, 11, 12).
  • Psychological functions
Folic acid helps reduce tiredness and fatigue(3) and supports normal psychological function(5).
  • Circulatory system
Folic acid contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism(6) and supports healthy blood formation(7). Scientific research shows it may help protect against coronary artery disease, thrombosis, atherosclerosis – and ultimately, heart attack and stroke(13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19).
  • Pregnancy
Folic acid supplementation increases folate levels in the mother. Low maternal folate is a known risk factor for neural tube defects in the developing fetus(10). Folic acid also supports maternal tissue growth during pregnancy(8). Studies show it can reduce the risk of fetal abnormalities – and related pregnancy complications or miscarriage – by up to 70%(18, 20, 21, 22).
