Danuta Dąbrowska w rozmowie z nikalab opowiada, jaką radę dałaby sobie, gdyby znowu miała 20 lat

In an interview with nikalab, Danuta Dąbrowska talks about why she doesn't like to rush, what is the connection between meditation and dance and whether she limits certain types of products in her diet.

For me, work life balance means... variety during the day. I like to have space for what is important to me on a given day. Being able to stop and do things without rushing is important to me.

My most important daily health habits are…

  • Stretching. I don't jump out of bed like a torpedo, I just give myself time. I don't like to rush, so I always organize my morning so that I have time to stretch, walk the dog and have breakfast. This always makes me feel good.
  • Fresh air. I try to spend time outside every day.
  • Physical activity.
  • Eating. Every day I need to have time and space in my calendar for breakfast and lunch. I once had a situation where we were in the middle of a large project and when I read the agenda every day, it turned out that there was no room for lunch. It didn't matter to me then, but I care about it a lot now.

The sport I practice regularly is... I dance and I train my whole body holistically. I dance Latin dances: cha-cha, rumba, samba and jive.

I spend at least an hour a day on physical activity a week . It takes a lot of time, but it is very important to me.

I don't need to be motivated to play sports because... I love physical activity. When I go to training, I immediately smile. I'm lucky that I don't have to force myself to do it or be particularly motivated. Movement comes naturally and with pleasure to me.

For me, meditation is… mindfulness. I try to concentrate on the activity I am doing and not think about other things. Dancing quickly verifies whether I am attentive at a given moment or not.

My diet is based on... conscious choices, but without restrictions. I eat groats, a lot of protein, seasonal vegetables and fruits, nuts, seeds, some fish and meat. I don't eat bread unless it's straight from a great bakery. I don't eat much sweets, but sometimes I allow myself to eat a cookie.

I end the day by… reading a book or watching a dance. I haven't developed my own evening ritual, but I always try to do something that gives me pleasure. Just as I don't get out of bed in a hurry, I don't go to bed in a hurry.

I spend… 7-8 hours sleeping.

The thing I do just for myself is… currently it's dancing.

My little sins are… buns.

Happiness for me is… every day.

Luxury for me is... the ability to do what I want.

My small daily steps in taking care of the planet are... sorting waste, making conscious purchasing choices, supporting initiatives that care for the climate and walking or cycling as much as possible.

The advice I would give myself if I were 20 again is... worry less and control less.

The book I recommend is... "Red Earth" by Marcin Meller.
The publisher does not conduct medical activities.
