There are plenty of magnesium supplements on the market – but as studies show, absorption rates can vary dramatically. The key difference lies between organic and inorganic forms of magnesium. Inorganic forms are absorbed at an average rate of just 10–16%, with magnesium oxide – one of the most common – reaching as low as 4%.
